After a successful round 1, let’s do it again, bigger and better and to raise more money!

We should both be taking things easy now with our kids being older and independent.

However, something is missing – a real sense of purpose.

2019, we left our comfort zones and completed a challenge we thought we could never do, well especially for one (Himat) where home comfort matters the most.

Seeing first-hand the difference we made to the children’s lives, we have decided to embark on this journey again.

We will be traveling in India’s ultimate road vehicle – the 3 wheeler rickshaw from Chitrakoot to Kutch, covering over 2000 km in 12 days with 108 fellow participants, looking to raise £500,000.

A child’s early years shapes their future, which is why we both want to make that difference.

About the Project:
The Sewa UK Rickshaw Run 2023 will be supporting the refurbishment of a dental unit at Arogyadham in Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Over 35,000 children are born with a cleft defect annually in India. Over half of those are either unable to afford treatments or are completely unaware that this can be treated at all.

The operations that take place are life changing for the children and allow them to integrate into normal society without any associated stigma. The facility we are fundraising for will provide FREE or very affordable cleft and palate surgery to support 500 surrounding villages. The building will have 6 dental surgeries on the 1st floor. On the ground floor, it will have 1 dental surgery, 1 operation theatre and 1 dental lab including waiting areas, offices and washroom facilities.
