Divya Arunodaya School Gadag |
A team from members of all walks of life and professions opened a school in Gadag, Karnataka in 2007. The students suffer from various kinds of disabilities including mental disability, cerebral palsy and autism. Accordingly the Arunodaya Special School has commenced its activities in a rented building, in the year 2007, with the help of society. Initially there were only 26 students in the school. Gradually the numbers of students increased. Presently, in our institute we are providing training to 48 students, but demand for places is great and currently we have over 150 parents with special needs children on our waiting list. The continued effort of the Management Committee at Gadag, the local Municipal Authority has allotted a plot of land (18000 Square feet) in the middle of the town for construction of School and training Centre for these children. Sewa UK will support to the building of this much needed new facility at a cost of building over £250,000. |
