Rickshaw Run 2023 Pritesh and Bhakti Rickshaw Run |
Imagine being born unable to feed, speak, or hear properly, and being treated differently just because you look different. This is the reality for children with cleft palate. In India alone, over 35,000 children are born with this condition each year, and many are unable to afford the necessary treatments. But you can help make a difference! We are taking part in the Sewa UK Rickshaw Run 2023 (RR23) to raise funds for the refurbishment of a dental unit at Arogyadham in Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, India. Over 108 Rickshaw Run self-funded participants from around the world will travel from Chitrakoot to Kutch in 36 Rickshaws, covering over 2000 km in just 12 days, with the goal of raising £500,000. The facility provides free or very affordable cleft and palate surgery to support 500 surrounding villages. The building will have six dental surgeries on the first floor, and one dental surgery, one operating theatre, and one dental lab on the ground floor, along with waiting areas, offices, and washroom facilities. All donations will go directly to this worthy cause, as Sewa UK is 100% volunteer-operated, and there are no administrative costs. Please support me in achieving our fundraising target of £5,000, and any donations you make towards this would be much appreciated by those in need. Thank you for your generosity and support for this amazing cause!
