Bhupendra Rickshaw Run 2023 Rickshaw Run |
Imagine being born unable to feed, not able to speak properly, hear properly and being treated differently because you 'look different'. These are all due to a condition called cleft palate. Over 35,000 children are born with a cleft palate in India. Over half of those are unable to afford treatments or are completely unaware that this can be treated at all. The operations are life changing for the children and their families, allowing children to integrate into normal society and removes any associated stigma. The Sewa UK Rickshaw Run 2023 (RR23) will be supporting the refurbishment of a dental unit at Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, India. The 108 international self-funded Rickshaw Run participants will be travelling in 36 Rickshaws covering over 2000 km (over 1200 miles) in just 12 days, looking to raise £500,000. The facility provides FREE or very affordable cleft and palate surgery to support over 500 surrounding villages. The building will have six dental surgeries on the 1st floor. On the ground floor, it will have one dental surgery, one operating theatre and one dental lab including waiting areas, offices and washroom facilities. Sewa UK is 100% volunteer operated, therefore all your donations will go directly to this worthy cause without any admin costs. Please support me in achieving my fund raising target and any donations you make towards this would be appreciated so much by those in need. | Fundraiser Bhupendra Bhudia Goal: £6,000.00
