A Fund Raising Thanks

Thanks to all who made time to attend the event and for your generous donations. Thanks to all who are actively raising funds for our nominated charity. Funds raised as of 13 July 2015 were £13,552!

Trek report

There were severe weather conditions with rain, high winds and hail storm on the day. In mountain language – a not so good day!

Despite this, 292 people attended (compared to 319 registered) so still a good turn out. Due to severe weather forecasts we lost out on:
– Pre registered 27 persons
– Day trippers mainly from Yorkshire and Lancashire

It was good to see many young walkers.

Our team of dedicated Marshals and Guides did fantastic work in attempting to summit Pen Y Ghent. It was very very cold and the rain with high winds made most walkers wet and cold. The hail was hitting their faces like pebbles. The team decided to turn back.

The Base, Service and First Aid volunteers did excellent work, and thanks to the mini bus driver who was always ready. You all are vital to the smooth running of the event. Thank you all.
