Yorkshire3Peaks 2014

Trek Report

Our 2014 Yorkshire 3 Peaks trek was a great success. Thanks to all who participated and raised funds. It was a fantastic day – cool, cloudy and no rain, with a little mist at the summit as expected.

Over 326 people attended, with 131 completing 3 peaks, 98 people completing 2 peaks, 84 people completing 1 peak, and 13 volunteers.

Our team of marshals and guides did a fantastic job, assisting a few injuries and encouraging the participants. It was great to see so many complete the full 3 peaks! We did have some injuries and those who got lost, but our volunteers were able to assist.

Well done to all who participated, and thanks to the experienced walkers who encouraged and looked after the others.

Keeping the Dales clean

Unfortunately, we have received some complaints about litter being left along the route, including banana skins, orange peel, plastic bottles and chocolate wrappers. This is not acceptable we would like to remind participants to respect the environment and ensure their litter is placed in bins or taken with them.

Online payments

Using MyDonate has been a great success for us, however a few have not provided names with their donations. Please provide these in future as we need them to tie names to registrants.

We would like to encourage everyone to use this facility more next year, as it is simpler and we immediately benefit from tax relief/gift aid.

Day registration

We would prefer people to register in advance, rather than on the day. It is important for us to be able to keep a record of our registrants.

Fund raising

Thanks to all who raised funds, donated, and made the time to attend. All donations for this event are for our chosen charity, SEWA UK.
