sewa UK is the trading name of Sewa International whose registered office is at 1100 Stratford road, Hall green, Birmingham, B28 8AD and our nature of work is charity. Data controller is Sewa International.

This privacy notice informs donors, staff, volunteers, supporters, enquirers, advisers, representatives of other organisations, individuals captured by CCTV images as to what to expect when sewa UK collects, uses, retains, and discloses your personal information. Personal information is that identifies you and is about you.

We are committed to your privacy and we have put all reasonable technical, security and procedural controls in place to protect your personal information for the whole of its life.

Your privacy is protected by law and we can only use your personal information if we have proper reason to do so. We process personal information to enable us to provide a voluntary service for the benefit of the national and overseas public as specified in our constitution; administer membership records; to maintain our own accounts and records.

We collect personal information when you contact us by phone, email, letter, respond to our appeal,  when you use or access our website or social media.

If you choose not to give personal information, it may prevent us from meeting our obligation. We will not be able to process your donation, sign you up for a particular event or provide goods and services you have requested.

We process personal information to enable us to provide a voluntary service for the benefit of the national and overseas public as specified in our constitution; administer membership records; to fundraise and promote the interests of the charity; manage our employees and volunteers; maintain our own accounts and records; to process your donations; to claim gift Aid on your donations and registering for an event.

Types and classes of information we process are: personal details such as name, date of birth, email address, postal address and telephone number; family details; lifestyle and social circumstances; membership details; goods and services; financial details; education and employment details; visual images, personal appearance and behaviour.

We also process sensitive classes of information that may include: physical or mental health details; racial or ethnic origin; religious or other beliefs of a similar nature; offences and alleged offences; criminal proceedings, outcomes and sentences and trade union membership.

We may share your personal information with HM revenue & Customs; our regulators and other authorities including fraud prevention agencies.

We may use other third party organisations such as BT  MyDonate or one of the other third parties that we work with and provide your consent for your personal information to be shared with us.

If we have to transfer personal information outside of the European Economic Area, we will make sure that it is protected to our standards.
